Young men and women have long answered the nation's call to serve in the military to protect the freedoms that we take for granted each day.

There are national and state memorials, but nothing brings awareness as well as a local memorial that we can see each day, allowing us to remember the sacrifices that have been made for us by our veterans and their families from the Lee County area.

A group of dedicated veterans and citizens started an effort in 2016 to create a park honoring Veterans of the United States Armed Forces past, present, and future and to acknowledge  the sacrifices they made and courage they displayed in service to our country.
